Nokia 6 Specification, Features
INTRODUCTION
The brand that was
once the leader in the Indian mobile phone market is back again with its all
new Nokia 6. The Nokia 6 is an Android based smartphone. The Nokia 6 is
designed by HMD Global, and it is manufactured by Foxconn Technology, which
also happens to be the manufacturer of iPhone.
DESIGN
The Nokia 6
undoubtedly reminds of the design philosophy of all the mobile phones devices
from Nokia back in the day, especially the glossy rectangular block around the
primary camera. The device comes with a fingerprint scanner that sits below the
display along with two capacitive physical navigational buttons. On the back of
the device is the Nokia branding along with the camera module and a LED flash.
The device measures 154 x 75.8 x 7.85 mm and it is only available in black
colour variant.
DISPLAY & CAMERA
The Nokia 6 has a
5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display. The display is covered by a 2.5D glass and
also protected by Corning s Gorilla Glass 3. The Full HD (1920x1080) resolution
gives the display a pixel density of 403 PPI. Nokia also promises that the
display will deliver 450 nits of brightness at its maximum level. The Nokia 6
is equipped with a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera; it is accompanied by an LED
flash and a phase-detection autofocus system. The secondary camera is an
8-megapixel unit with a wide-angle lens. Both the cameras can record videos at
Full HD resolution. The camera experts have always praised the smartphones from
Nokia for their imaging capabilities as Nokia optimises the camera software
very well.
BATTERY & CONNECTIVITY
The Nokia 6 encloses
a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery. It is still unconfirmed whether the device
supports fast charging or not. Sadly, Nokia has skipped the USB Type-C and went
the widely used microUSB 2.0 for wired connectivity. The wireless connectivity
includes dual-SIM 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS.
SOFTWARE & PERFORMANCE
The Nokia 6 comes
pre-loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. Nokia has customised the
Android OS to give it a different look. The software customisations include
different icon sets, and a different system-wide theme. Also, Nokia has removed
the application drawer; many Chinese phone manufacturers tend to do the same.
Under the hood, the Nokia 6 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset.
The chipset consists of an octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU along with Adreno 505 GPU.
The chipset is mated to 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM. Nokia was generous enough to provide
the device with 64GB of internal storage that can also be expanded up to 128GB via
a microSD card.
